Cairo, Egypt, 1 December 2008: Marc Stephens yesterday chaired a high level panel discussion on vocational education in Egypt in Cairo’s Industrial Modernisation Centre. Over 150 educational and training experts from Egypt and the UK attended the event. Key note speeches were given by HE Rachid Mohammed Rachid, Minister of Trade and Industry and Dr Hany Ahmed Mohammed Moneib, Prime Undersecretary, Ministry of Education.

Topics covered during the conference included: – technical secondary education – employer engagement – professionalising the learning and teaching sector – tackling long term unemployment – quality assurance and raising standards.
