At Open Cities (Libya), we specialise in training and consultancy. With both Libyan and British management and staff, and offices located in the heart of Tripoli’s Qadisiya commercial area, we are ideally placed to deliver our high quality services to business clients.
Our mission is to strengthen the capacity of Libyan organizations to operate, communicate and trade with the rest of the world. We do this using our in-depth understanding of Libyan business needs, our technical expertise and our close links with the UK.
Our three main areas of activity are training, organizational development and policy & research.
TRAINING
We offer bespoke language,economic and technical training services.
• Language training
o We deliver in-house business English training at all levels to Libyan employees of companies in order to maximise attendance and effectiveness
o All of our tutors and trainers are native speakers
o We provide intensive follow-on English training in the UK for up to 3 months.
o We also provide short courses on business presentations, business correspondence and other business related communication skills in our training centre in Casa Angelos, Qadisiya
o We teach Libyan Arabic dialect to non-Arabic speaking beginners using bespoke material transcribed into English script to allow for easy learning
o Certificates are available for those completing our courses
• Economic and technical training
o We offer training leading to the Professional Banking Certificate issued by the Chartered Institute of Training in the UK
o We deliver short training modules in project management and economic analysis
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We provide a range of services helping organizationsto select, manage and reward their staff as effectively as possible. In particular we offer the following services:
• Psychometric testing to assist organisations in the selection of new staff
• Quarterly Salary Surveys
• Modern methods of performance management
POLICY AND RESEARCH
We host ‘Lessons Learned’ seminars at our training centre on topics relating to economic development. These are led by experts from a variety of sectors and countries and are by invitation only.
